Kate
That lovely lady in the picture on the right is Kate. Kate and I have been married for just about five years. We met after college. We met when we were both working for Habitat for Humanity in Jacksonville, Florida. Kate is an integral part of this blog. She does much of the background research, which means that she reads lots of blogs and then tells me which ones I should look at. She also reads most of the posts before they go up because she is really nice, and she’ll let me know if I write something that’s too mean about someone.

Kate’s hobbies include reading food blogs, buying cookbooks, telling me to wash my hands, spoiling the dog (see below), buying black and grey pants from Ann Taylor Loft and New York and Co., talking about work, and spending time with friends and family. Hmmm, there’s a very good chance that she’ll read this paragraph and make me change it.
Gilbert
Gilbert is our dog son. He is quite possibly the most popular dog on the internet. He has been features on several popular food blogs, including Kath Eats Real Food, Bites and Bowls, and The Chic Life. Since Gilbert has his own page now (here) I’m hoping that when he shows up on a blog, they’ll link back to his bio page here. We’ll see how that goes.
Gilbert was rescued from a pet store about four years ago. All of the good pet parents like to talk about rescuing their dogs from shelters, but I’m pretty sure that Gilbert didn’t want to spend any more time at the pet store, so I consider it a rescue. I also don’t think that we were supporting puppy mills, because I totally bartered and got like $100 knocked off of his price, so I consider that sticking it to the man/puppy mill.
Gilbert’s hobbies include going to the dog park, sleeping, eating cheese, and watching television. Gilbert dislikes squirrels and boxers.
